Parent/Child Relationships
Often times a single location is made up of multiple businesses within. For example, the local Mall is made up of many different retailers. When inspecting a specific establishment within such a location, inspectors may need details about both the individual business and the overall property. Emergent facilitates this through Parent/Child relationships, allowing inspectors to access relevant information for both the establishment and its larger associated entity.
When viewing a location within Occupancy in Emergent, the Relationship tab details the type of relationship that exists.
Parent Entity
When viewing a parent entity, say the mall, the Relationship tab display information about the child entities (ie the stores within the mall). From the parent entity, the use can add child entities and edit existing child entities directly from the Relationships page.
NOTE: Child entities cannot be added to an inactive occupancy (status = inactive)
Child Entity
When viewing a child entity, say a store unit within the mall, the Relationships tab display information about the parent entity (ie the mall).
From the relationship tab, the displayed occupancies can be clicked on to view the details (and edit if allowed).
