Adding Questions to a Checklist

When building a checklist, the questions can be added to the checklist from either existing question in the library, or by manually adding the question directly to the checklist section.

PRO TIP:  When adding questions to the checklist, seeing the Checklist Type to AdHoc will minimize the real estate of the top section and maximize the screen space available for adding questions.

Adding Questions from the Library:

The library of questions displays on the right hand side of the checklist builder.  To find questions that have been added to the library type the key word or part of the key word in the search box.

The search results only displays the question Name.

Once the desired question is found, select the question and drag it to the Section it should display in the Checklist.

When a question has been added to the list, it will continue to display in the Library list to be re-used until the checklist is saved.  Once the checklist has been saved, 'used' questions will no longer display in the library list.

NOTE: To determine the difference between similar or identical question Names, either the question can be added to the checklist, where it can be expanded to view/alter the details, or the user must go back to the Library view to view the question details.

PRO TIP: When adding several similar question to the checklist, search by a common set of letters or word that is in the questions to streamline the search and find efforts.  In the example screenshot above, if the checklist needs BP Cuff Adult Small, BP Cuff Adult Medium, BP Cuff Adult Large, and BP Cuff Adult XL, searching for BP returns all of the option in a single search vs typing in the full Name and finding each question one at a time.

PRO TIP: When building a long checklist, some users find it easier to add the questions working from the bottom up rather than the top down.  Working from the bottom up eliminates some of the challenges with the screen scrolling as you are adding the questions.

Creating Questions Manually:

Emergent also provides the ability to add question directly to a section of the checklist.

When adding a question directly to a Checklist section, that question is NOT added to the library for re-use in other checklists.

Re-Arranging:

Emergent provides the ability for users to re-arrange the questions within a section, as well as change the order the sections display.  To change the order of questions or sections, grab the checkerboard and drag the item up or down to the desired location.  Questions can even be moved to different sections.
