Begin Incident from the iPad
Unlike the old NFIRS model which was a static and rigid list of data points to capture on an incident, NERIS is flexible and dynamic. The NERIS model is design to capture data that is relevant for the type of incident, and the model is flexible allowing for it to evolve over time.
The Emergent iPad Incident Reporting tool is designed to make it easy for users to begin reports while on the go.
Required fields are indicated, but they do not need to be complete to end the iPad report and upload it to Portal where the report can be finished.
Depending on the Incident Type(s) selected, additional tabs may appear to collect additional data. This data can be captured on the iPad or completed in Portal.
NERIS provides field descriptions for most data points. These can be viewed by tapping on the
next to the field. As NERIS updates these descriptions, Emergent will automatically display the updated description displayed.
