Unit Narratives
Emergent provides multiple tools to capture the incident narratives, even allowing units to submit their own narrative while the report is still being worked.
iPad NARRATIVES
The person who is responsible for the incident report can start their report on the iPad. They can also capture their unit's narrative on the iPad, using the Add Note feature, or navigating to the Narrative tab. The narrative captured on the iPad will be uploaded to the portal as the Unit Narrative for the unit who uploaded the iPad report.

TIP: Utilize Apple's built in voice dictation to make capturing the narrative easy.
UNIT NARRATIVES on PORTAL
Units, along with the user who is completing the Incident Report, can submit their narrative via the portal at anytime prior to the incident being submitted to NERIS. Emergent only allows one user to be editing the incident (situation tab) at a time, but does support multiple users authoring unit narratives concurrently.
To add a narrative to an incident, select the incident and navigate to the Narrative tab.

On the right side of the screen are quick links to the units assigned to the incident. Click on your unit to jump to that unit's narrative card, or you can scroll. Once at the narrative card for your unit, input your narrative. When the narrative is complete click Lock Unit Report. Locking the narrative indicates to the person completing the incident report that your narrative is complete and ready for NERIS submission. The narrative can be unlocked and edited at any time prior to the incident being submitted to NERIS.
Multiple Unit Narratives can be authored concurrently, as long as there is only one users authoring the narrative for each unit at any given time.
NOTE: If your unit is not listed on the right side of the Narrative tab, contact the person completing the Incident report, and they can add the unit for you.
